We would like to mark your calendar for the upcoming IFA European Region Conference 2021 “Mobility of work, capital, IP and business in a changing European tax environment”  to be held in Milan, Italy, on May 20-21 2021.

The conference shall give the stage to distinguished and experienced speakers – academics, tax officials and practitioners – to highlight crucial issues and track future trends in international taxation. The sessions will concentrate on the issues arising from mobility of work, capital, IP and business in the light of the  newest tax developments including implementation of BEPS and ATAD. Panel discussions shall also address the review of the practical tax implications of  the most recent cross-border  market deals and reorganizations which have taken place in Europe.

Speakers shall provide a comprehensive multi-jurisdictional tax  expertize including representatives of Revenue Agencies and international organisations, tax academics, tax practitioners and tax directors. The Conference will be held in downtown Milan and will extend over two days, Thursday and Friday, May 20-21 2021.

How to get to Milan

BY PLANE
Milan is serviced by three airports. Together they provide extensive and frequent national and international connections.
*MILAN MALPENSA airport, located 48 km northwest of Milan.
*MILAN LINATE airport, very close to the city centre, is just 9 km from the Central Station.
*ORIO AL SERIO (BG) airport is 50 km from the city centre and well connected with Milan. The journey takes approximately an hour.

BY TRAIN
Thanks to its extraordinary location, Milan is a strategic railway hub. The city has numerous railway stations at its disposal: Centrale,  Garibaldi, Rogoredo, Lambrate.
The most important is Centrale (Central Station) from which trains depart for all Italian and European destinations, while the others function as an important hub for regional services.

Public Transports

Milan has an excellent public transport system of trams, buses and the underground. The four metro lines in Milan are numbered and have various colours. Tickets can be purchased from newsstands or tobacconists.

  • Line M1 (red): This line is useful, especially if you are travelling to Milan on business and want to reach the Fiera Milano. The line also stops at the Duomo and San Babila.
  • Line M2 (green): The M2 stops at Milano Centrale.
  • Line M3 (yellow):  It stops at the Duomo, in Via Montenapoleone (the most important commercial area in Milan) and Milano Centrale.
    Stop for the Hotel Principe di Savoia: Repubblica (M3)
  • Line M5 (purple): The M5 is integrated with the regional trains. Visitors will find the following stops interesting: Garibaldi station and Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
